Two Factor Authentication: Microsoft Authenticator User Guide

Learn how to enable Two Factor authentication using Microsoft Authentication

Step 1: Access Account Settings

  1. Log in to your Suralink account.

  2. Click My Account in the page footer.

  3. Select Two-factor from the left-hand navigation menu.

Step 2: Install Microsoft Authenticator

  1. Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) on your mobile device.

  2. Search for and install Microsoft Authenticator. Currently, the logo looks like this:

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the app on your device.

  4. In Suralink, click Next step to proceed.

Step 3: Pair Your Device

  1. Open Microsoft Authenticator and tap the "+" icon at the top right.

  2. Select Work or school account, then choose Scan a QR code.

  3. Scan the QR code displayed on the Suralink page.

    1. Note: If the camera is unavailable, you may select "Enter code manually instead" on Suralink.

  4. On Suralink, click Next step located under the QR code.

Step 4: Verify and Complete

  1. Locate the 6-digit code for the "Suralink" entry in your app.

  2. Enter this code into the Passcode field on Suralink.

  3. Click Complete authentication.

  4. A confirmation message "Two-factor enabled successfully!" will appear.

    1. You should not click on the re-pair or disable buttons at this time.


Managing Your 2FA

  • Standard Login: After entering your password, you must provide the one-time code generated by Microsoft Authenticator.

  • Trusted Devices: You may select Remember this device for 30 days to streamline future logins.
