Password Reset Button In Email Not Working

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Issue

You have received a password reset email from Suralink, but clicking the "Reset Password" button results in no action, or the page fails to load.

Solution

If the main button in your email is unresponsive, please follow the troubleshooting steps below. These are listed in order of the most common solutions.

1. Locate the Link Text

If the button is not working, the email contains a plain text backup link.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the email.

  • Look for a long URL (web address).

  • Click the link directly, or copy and paste it into your browser's address bar.

2. Use an Incognito or Private Window

Browser extensions, cache, or cookies can sometimes interfere with Suralink's security tokens.

  • Chrome: Right-click the link and select "Open link in Incognito Window."

  • Edge: Right-click the link and select "Open link in InPrivate Window."

  • Manual Method: Copy the long link from the bottom of the email, open a new Incognito/Private window, and paste the link into the address bar.

3. Ensure You Are Using the Most Recent Email

For security purposes, password reset links expire after a short period, and requesting a new one invalidates the previous ones.

  • Check your inbox for multiple password reset emails.

  • Delete all previous emails to ensure you don't accidentally click an old link.

  • Only use the link found in the most recent email received.
