What is two-factor authentication?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Two-factor authentication is a security process that provides an additional layer of protection for your account beyond just a username and password. This is done by requiring users to input a securely generated code to verify their identity. Firms can require their firm users two-factor authentication as a security measure when logging in.

There are multiple different mobile apps that can be used for two-factor authentication. These apps will generate six-digit authentication codes that expire rapidly. For more information about which apps we recommend, see this article, here.

We ask for the two-factor authentication code after a user enters their email address and password.
